          Arianna Fearing has been surrounded by dance her entire life. She began taking dance at the age of three from her mother, and founder of Dancin’ on the Door, Andria Nikoupolis-Weliky. Arianna has experience in tap, ballet, jazz, hip-hop, bellydance, and zumba. She has taken dance classes and participated in a Dance Concert at Macalester College. In the fall of 2015, Arianna will be attending the University of Minnesota- Twin Cities where she will continue taking classes to fulfill her love of dance. She has helped teach alongside her mother, but is now very excited to begin teaching a class of her own and to be apart of the Dancin’ on the Door staff.

            Gretchen Geurts-KummerTribal Belly Dance / Yoga Instructor

            One of the many passions of Gretchen Geurts Kumers is dance. Born & raised in WI, she has studied and performed many styles of dance since childhood. During several years of traveling abroad, yoga and belly dance became her focus. While living for a decade in Hawaii she discovered tribal belly dance and studied under world renowned Kajira Djoumahna. After a few years of education, teaching workshops and performing both in Hawaii and California, she became certified to teach and founded her own dance studio for movement arts. In 2011, Gretchen moved back to her roots in Wisconsin and has committed herself to cultivating her love to grow and to share her knowledge of dance.

            • Willa Wilde
              Willa WildeDance and Zumba Instructor, Choreographer

              Willa Wilde has a passion for movement.  She began dancing at the age of five and plans to never stop.  Willa Wilde graduated in May 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance from the University of Colorado Boulder.  She is trained in jazz, hip hop, modern, ballet, tap, musical theatre, swing, improvisation, folklorico, African, and zumba.  Wilde has had the privilege to work and study with many teachers, such as, Anaya Chatterjea, Sara Roybal, Lorenzo Harris, Lawerence Southall, Ginka Cohen, Stephanie Tulley, Marius Anastazy, and Andria Nikoupolis-Welky.  She is a dancer, choreographer, teacher, fitness instructor, and artist who enjoys dancing with all kinds of people.  In her future, Willa Wilde plans to continue her education by receiving a Masters in Dance Therapy.  Wilde believes in the power of movement and believes everybody can dance.

                Lori StrantzSomatics Instructor

                Lori Strantz, Owner of Lori’s Spa Essence in Fish Creek, Wisconsin, has been a spa owner in Door County since 2000. She is a Somatic Exercise Coach and a Clinical Somatic Educator/Practitioner in-training. She has been a Licensed Massage Therapist and Certified Fitness Instructor since 1997. She is also a Certified Natural Health Professional with the National Association of Certified Natural Health Professionals, Inc. Lori holds a B.A. degree in Human Resource Management, with 20+ years experience coaching, training and educating individuals in the areas of business, personal development, wellness and pain management.

                 

                Before moving to Door County Wisconsin in 1999, Lori and her husband resided in Minneapolis, Minnesota where she started her career in wellness education. Lori founded LifeFit Management, Inc. where she provided one-on-one and corporate group training in a variety of wellness related and life skills areas including stress management, problem solving, communication, fitness walking programs, corporate chair massage incentive programs, therapeutic table massage, and personal fitness training. Prior to starting her own business, Lori worked as a corporate Human Resources, Training and Development Director where she managed the overall human resources and training strategies for a mid-sized private organization.

                 

                In addition to providing massage therapy at Spa Essence, Lori provides Somatic Education to her clients through private clinical sessions, classes and workshops. She works with clients who have issues with chronic pain, joint stiffness or postural problems. She teaches them how to get long-term pain relief using gentle movement techniques and methods of Hanna Somatics. Somatics allows us to retain the brain to restore muscle function and length, without pain or force. Lori teaches life-long tools to improve body awareness, control and freedom of movement. Hanna Somatics goes to the root of most cases of chronic muscular pain and teaches to eliminate pain, improve muscular coordination, and gain flexibility.

                • Rebecca Sheesley
                  Rebecca SheesleyYoga Instructor

                  Rebecca is a 200 hour Registered Alliance Yoga Instructor and a 100 hour certified Chair yoga Instructor.  She is also a Liscensed Massage Therapist and Reiki Master.  After graduating from Chicago School of Massage Therapy in December of 1999 she began practicing Yoga as a tool to strengthen her body, mind, and spirit.  Moving from Chicago to Sturgeon Bay seven years ago she continued to take classes in the area.  In February 2011 she traveled to Baja Mexico to study at Yandara Yoga Institute, and has been teaching in the Door County Community since that time.  Rebecca teaches a gentle Hatha/Vinyasa flow class which coordinates the breath with movement.  Her goal is to allow students to work at their comfort level to strenghten their bodies, relax their minds, engage their spirits.  She is thrilled to be teahing at Dancin On The Door.

                    Jan Mills was introduced to yoga in 1999 while living in New York city and has been an avid practitioner ever since. Primarily trained in the Ashtanga tradition of Sri K Pattabhi Jois, she has also studied the Sivananda tradition, Vedanta, and Vipassana meditation. Certified by Greenpath Yoga studio in San Francisco with Clayton Horton, she has practiced under Tim Miller, Meir Lesham, Catherine Shaddix, Magnolia Zuniga, and Rusty Wells. She also completed the Acroyoga Solar Immersion with Jason & Jenny. Her classes are joyful and rigorous, drawing creatively on a wide variety of experience. www.yogawithjan.com

                    • Anna Mae Beyer
                      Anna Mae BeyerDance Instructor

                      Anna Mae is a recent graduate of the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse with a Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance and Musical Theatre. She first fell in love with tap after being thrown into the dance chorus of her first collegiate musical, The Drowsy Chaperone. After this experience, at the age of 18, she enrolled in her first tap class. With the basics now under her belt, Anna Mae bought some fancy shoes and began taking private lessons and auditioning for as many tap-heavy musicals she could find. Just this past year she has time-stepped her way back to the 1920’s as Millie in the musical Thoroughly Modern Millie and stomped up to the rooftops as a chimney sweep in Mary Poppins. Anna Mae is very excited to share this fun, rhythmic and energetic dance. It’s never too late to start!

                        Wendy has been practicing dance and exercise fitness since 1974. She studied dance at the University of Wisconsin GB and health fitness at the Evergreen State College, Olympia, Washington.  She is a certified fitness instructor with 21 years of teaching experience.  Her practice is an array of therapeutic Pilates exercises and classical stretch movements to promote muscular support and flexibility…over all body care.
